Cheville métallique creuse.
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>
<Desc/Clms Page number 3>
<Desc/Clms Page number 4>
<Desc/Clms Page number 5>

<Desc/Clms Page number 8>
<Desc/Clms Page number 9>
<Desc/Clms Page number 10>
<Desc/Clms Page number 11>
<Desc/Clms Page number 12>

Hollow metal plug.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
The present invention relates to a pointed hollow plug intended, on the one hand, to be driven directly into a construction material, under the effect of a rotation or an alternating translation and of shocks produced by means of of a rotary or reciprocating percussion hammer or of a rotary percussion drill, and on the other hand, to be fixed in this material under the effect of a lateral expansion produced by a point introduced into its axial hollow , under pressure or by p @ @@ sion. This ankle constitutes an improvement of the subject of Belgian patent No. 715,826, filed previously.
The ankle considered in the present case is in fact made up of a solid pointed head and a tubular remaining part. The full head shows at least ax. cutting edges regularly distributed around its longitudinal axis. The tubular part is provided, on the one hand, with at least one outer groove for the release of dust and drilling debris, and on the other hand, with expansion slots delimiting expansion strips. Under the action of a point driven axially into the tubular part
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
of the anchor, the expansion strips are spaced radially from the longitudinal axis of this anchor and ensure the anchoring of the latter in the construction material.
The anchor according to main patent no. 715.826 is completely metallic. As a result, such an anchor is relatively difficult to machine or to produce. In fact, the formation of the dust and drill cuttings release grooves requires complicated milling, particularly when these grooves extend helically. In addition, the formation of the expansion slots requires cutting the tubular part which is all the more difficult as the latter is thick.
The anchor according to the current patent application is designed to be easier, faster and more economically feasible than the aforesaid known anchors of the same type.
To this end, the tubular part of the new plug has jointly and concentrically a metal part and a synthetic material part. The part, made of metal, advantageously consists of a single piece of tube which can be easily transformed by machining or stamping and easily mounted on the solid head. On the other hand, the synthetic material part can be formed by a sheath or a ring which can be directly molded without requiring any subsequent modification.
In this way, in an ankle according to the current patent application, the tubular part consists on the one hand of an inner metal tube secured to the head,
<Desc / Clms Page number 4>
and on the other hand, an outer sheath of synthetic material or the like clamped or screwed onto the inner tube. This inner tube and this outer sheath each have the expansion slots aligned radially and delimiting the expansion slats arranged respectively vis-à-vis each other.
According to an alternative embodiment of the anchor according to current demand, the tubular part is made up on the one hand of an outer metal tube and on the other hand of an inner sheath of synthetic material or the like, clamped or screwed into the outer tube and secured to the head. In this case too, the outer tube and this inner sheath each have the radially aligned expansion slits delimiting the expansion lamellae respectively arranged vis-à-vis each other.
In order to have good contact with the solid head of the new ankle, the outer, respectively inner sheath of the tubular part of this ankle is supported against an outer, respectively inner shoulder formed by this head.
According to the inventive idea, the tubular part of the new ankle can also be completely of synthetic material or the like.
To ensure the assembly of the constituent elements of the new anchor, the full metal tata of oelle-oi is screwed into the tapped bore of the corresponding end of its tubular part.
The ankle conforming to the main bravât n 715.826 has, as said previously, a joint introduced in
<Desc / Clms Page number 5>
its tubular part to produce the radial spacing of the expansion strips. According to this main patent, the tip is also completely metallic.
The ankle in accordance with the current patent application also relates to this point in order to improve its fixation in the tubular part after anchoring in the construction material.
For this purpose, in the ankle according to the current patent application, the point in question comprises a ring of synthetic material or the like, arranged near its inner end. This ring bears against the tubular part of the ankle to force the expansion strips to move apart radially.
Advantageously, the ring of the point is mounted in a corresponding annular groove or groove adjacent to the inner end of this point, such a groove or groove having moreover already been provided previously. @
To further increase the adhesion of the toe ring to the tubular part of the ankle, this ring has fins, teeth or notches which are continuous or discontinuous and projecting outwardly.
In the context of current improvements, the point of the ankle can also be completely made of synthetic material or the like.
Other details and features of the invention will become apparent from the description of the drawings appended hereto, which represent schematically and by way of example only, several embodiments of the invention.
<Desc / Clms Page number 6>
Figures 1, 3.5, 7.9, 11, 13, 15 and 17 are respectively partial axial sections of several embodiments of hollow plugs according to the invention.
Figures 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16 and 16 show cross sections of these anchors, made respectively along lines II-II, IV-IV, VI-VI, VIII-VII, XX, XII-XII, xiv-xiv, xvi-xvi, XVIII-XVIII of the previous axial sections.
Figures 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25 and 26 are partial axial sections of tips of the hollow plugs according to the invention, these tips being applicable to one or the other of the plugs according to Figures 1 to 18.
. In these different figures, the same notations designate identical elements.
The hollow plugs shown serve to connect various objects to building elements made of any building material. Each hollow anchor is first intended to be driven directly into the construction material under the effect of a rotation or a reciprocating translation and shocks produced by means of a rotary or reciprocating hammer with percussion or a Rotary percussion drill.
This pin is then intended to be fixed in this material under the effect of a lateral expansion produced by a point introduced into its axial hollow under pressure or by percussion, this point being connected in any way to the object or to the objects. aforementioned objects @
The hollow peg actually includes a head
<Desc / Clms Page number 7>
drilling 1 and a tubular part 2 secured to the head 1.
Head 1 is metallic, solid and pointed.
It has at least two cutting edges 3 regularly distributed around the longitudinal axis of the ankle. In this way, the head 1 can penetrate into the construction material during its rotation and its axial advancement.
The tubular part 2 consists of two elements which are concentric and coaxial with the head 1; namely: a tube 4 of metal and a sheath 5 of synthetic material or the like.
The tubular part 2 has, on the one hand, at least one outer groove 6 for clearing dust and drilling cuttings and, on the other hand, expansion slots 7 grouped in pairs and delimiting expansion strips 8. .
In the first embodiment (Figures 1 and 2), the metal tube 4 is inside the synthetic sheath 5. In addition, the head 1 has a threaded projection 9 screwed into the corresponding threaded end of the tube 4. The grooves of 6 semi-circular clearance are cut into the sheath 5. The expansion slots 7 are found in both the tube 4 and the sheath 5. They extend radially between the clearance 6.
In the second embodiment, the relief grooves are rectangular and more numerous. On the other hand $ -the expansion tents 7 extend radially and end respectively in the bottom of the release groove 6. In addition, the metal tube 4 has
<Desc / Clms Page number 8>
small guide grooves 10. For the rest, this second peg is the same as the previous one,
In the third embodiment (Figures 5 and 6), the release grooves 6 and the expansion slots 7 all extend helically at a pitch substantially greater than the outer diameter of the synthetic sheath 5. Further, this ankle is the mother that the first had regarding the rest.
In the fourth embodiment (Figures 7 and 8), the synthetic sheath 5 has a single relief groove 6 extending helically at a substantially smaller pus than its outside diameter. However, the expansion slits 7 are rectilinear in the metal tube 4 and in the synthetic sheath 5. Furthermore, this peg is the same as the second for the rest.
In the fifth embodiment (lines 9 and 10), the metal tube 4, one end of which is threaded, is screwed into a threaded projection 11 of the head 1. On the other hand, this fifth pin is similar to the previous one for the rest.
In the sixth embodiment (Figures 11 and 12), the synthetic sheath 5 is internal to the metal tube 4. In this case, the sheath 5 is screwed by its threaded end into a threaded projection 11 of the head 1. In this case In addition, the sheath 5 has a rough interior surface. For its part, the tube 4 is clamped on the projection 11 of the head 1. In this example, the release grooves 6 are rectilinear and semi-circular. In addition, the expansion slots 7 are also rectilinear and extend radially in the tube 4 and the sheath 5 to terminate on the outside.
<Desc / Clms Page number 9>
between the release grooves 6.
In the seventh embodiment (Figures 13 and 14), the synthetic sheath 5 is screwed by its threaded end, into a threaded recess of the head 1.
Furthermore, this end of the externally threaded sheath 5 is internally tapered and has internal hooking ribs 12. Furthermore, the release grooves E are rectangular and four in number.
In addition, the expansion slots 7 extend radially in the tube 4 and the sheath 5, to end in the bottom of the release grooves 6. Otherwise, the seventh pin is identical to the previous one.
In the eighth embodiment (Figures 15 and 16), the release grooves 6 and the expansion slots 7 extend helically at a pitch substantially greater than the outside diameter of the ankle. For the rest, this eighth peg is the same as the sixth.
In the ninth embodiment (Figures 17 and 18), there is provided a single relief groove 6 extending helically at a pitch much smaller than the outside diameter of the peg. On the other hand, the synthetic sheath 5 has its end located near the head 1 which is threaded on the outside and which forms a conical hollow, the wall of which is lined with small hooking ribs 12.
The radial expansion of the expansion strips 8 is produced by a point 13 which is driven axially into the tubular part 2 of the ankle.
<Desc / Clms Page number 10>
The point 13 is in fact made up of a metal rod 14, the inner end 15 of which is arranged to be inserted as far as possible into the tubular part 2 and the outer end 16 of which is suitable for its use.
The inner end 15 and the body of the rod 14 of the tip 13 are advantageously delimited axially by a groove in which is mounted a ring 17 of synthetic material or the like. This ring 17 acts in fact against the expansion strips 8 to move them away from the longitudinal axis of the ankle.
In the first embodiment of the tip 13 (Figure 19), the inner end 15 is bitronically conical. In addition, the aforesaid groove is rectangular and short. In addition, the synthetic ring 17 has hooking ribs 18 on the outside projecting radially with respect to the outer face of the rod 14. Finally, the end 16 is threaded.
In the second embodiment of the tip 13 (Figure 20), the end 15 is simply conical. For the rest, this second point is similar to the first.
In the third embodiment of the tip 13 (FIG. 21), the synthetic ring 17 has a smooth cylindrical outer face lying in the extension of that of the rod 14. For the rest, this third tip is identical to the first. .
In the fourth embodiment of the tip 13 (FIG. 22), the synthetic ring 17 is still smooth on the outside as in the previous case. For the rest, this fourth point is identical to the second.
<Desc / Clms Page number 11>
In the fifth embodiment of the tip 13 (FIG. 23), the groove 16 for housing the synthetic ring 17 is of rectangular section instead of triangular. On the other hand, the ring 17 has a smooth outer face lying in the extension of the rod 14 and corresponding to the diameter of the base of the conical inner end 15. In addition, the outer end 16 is simply made of 'a cylindrical crown. For the rest, this fifth point is analogous to the second.
In the sixth embodiment of the tip 13 (FIG. 24): the synthetic ring 17 of rectangular cross section has outer fins 19 projecting with respect to the outer face of the rod 14, the latter being by elsewhere hollow and of hexagonal section. On the other hand, the outer end 16 is also hexagonal. For the rest, this sixth point is the same as the previous one.
In the seventh embodiment of the tip 13 (Figure 25), the inner end 15 is spherical.
On the other hand, the synthetic ring 17 is formed by a simple annular washer arranged perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the ankle. For the rest, this sixth point is the same as the third.
In the eighth and last embodiment of the tip 13, the housing groove of the synthetic ring 17 in fact extends over the entire length of the rod 14. As a result, the ring 17 which has hooking ribs 18 near the inner end 15 overlaps
<Desc / Clms Page number 12>
the entire rod 14. For the rest, this eighth point is identical to the fifth.
In the examples described above, the tubular point 2 of the ankle and the point 13 each comprise a metal element and a similar synthetic material element. In alternative embodiments, this tubular part 2 and this tip 13 can be completely made of synthetic material or the like.
As can be seen in the figures of the ankle, the synthetic sheath 5 bears against a shoulder formed by the head 1, and this, whether this sheath is external or internal relative to the metal tube 4.
. In the examples chosen, the hooking ribs 12 or 18 and the fins 19 are continued. However, in other cases they may be discontinuous. In the same vein, these ribs or these fins can be partially or totally replaced by teeth or notches also continuous or discontinued.
It is obvious that the invention is not exclusively limited to the embodiments shown and that many modifications can be made in the form, the arrangement and the constitution of certain of the elements involved in their realization, provided that the case The modifications do not contradict the purpose of each of the following claims.
