Abstract

A composition improving the efficiency of the use of feed by a ruminant, which comprises as active component, one or more microbial cultures, capable of adjusting the weight ratio of acetic acid to propionic acid to an optimal value, preferably 1.5 to 4.0: 1 and to develop in the rumen, and to persist there for at least 60 days, possibly mixed with carriers, diluents, preservatives usually used in animal husbandry and substances nutritious and / or others conventionally administered to ruminants.
