Abstract

The device is used for wet grinding and polishing of rock and metal materials by feeding coolant through the axle of an outlet shaft. It is driven by a motor or by a driving mechanism. It consists of housing (2) and outlet shaft (3), connected to the motor shaft or to the driving mechanism and to it two front seals of V-type ring (8) are fixed and opposite to it with the facility for axial presure and sealing to two washers (4 & 7), fixed to the housing. The axial hole of shaft (3) is connected to a water chamber (K) by means of two opposite kidney-like grooves in cross section to parallel axles symmetrically fitted to the axial hole of shaft (3). A water delivery unit is fitted to the housing. The front seals of V-type ring secure airtightness of the water chamber and small friction forces as a result of which the eficiency factor of the device is improved. The special shape of the hole connecting the water chamber and the axial shaft hole enables the delivery of water and performing wet grinding and polishing at revolution speeds up to 6000 min-1.
