Abstract
"GENE TIPO PrP". A presente invenção provê ácidos nucléicos que codificam a proteína Doppel ("Dpl"), os peptídios Dpl, e avalia a utilização dos ácidos nucléicos e/ou dos peptídios Dpl. Em aspectos relacionados, a invenção caracteriza vetores de expressão e células hospedeiras, que compreendem ácidos nucléicos que codificam um polipeptídio Dpl humano. A presente invenção também se refere a anticorpos que se ligam especificamente a um polipeptídio Dpl humano, a métodos para a produção de polipeptídios Dpl humanos, a métodos para a identificação de células que expressam Dpl, a métodos para uso do gene Dpl e do polipeptídio Dpl, para alterar a função celular e a infecciosidade com priónio, em cultura ou in vivo, e à identificação de indivíduos com risco de doenças de priónio, detectando a alteração na codificação de Dpl e seq³ências reguladoras e níveis de expressão de Dpl.
