Abstract

"MéTODO PARA TRATAR A SUPERFìCIE DE UMA LENTE DE CONTATO DE HIDROGEL DE SILICONE". A presente invenção e dirigida ao tratamento superficial de lentes de contato de hidrogel de silicone. Em particular, a presente invenção é dirigida a um método para modificar a superfície de uma lente de contato para aumentar sua hidrofilicidade revestindo a lente com uma camada contendo carbono produzida a partir de um composto diolefínico tendo 4 a 8 átomos de carbono. Em uma configuração, uma camada hidrofílica, opticamente límpida, é provida sobre a superfície de uma lente de hidrogel de silicone submetendo seq³encialmente a superfície da lente a: uma reação de oxidação com plasma, seguido por uma reação de polimerização com plasma na presença de uma diolefina e na ausência de ar. Finalmente, a camada de carbono resultante é tornada hidrofílica por uma reação de oxidação com plasma adicional ou pela ligação de uma cadeia de polímeros hidrofílicos.
