Abstract
"MéTODO E SISTEMA DE DESCONTAMINAçãO ANTIMICROBIANA DE ITENS". Uma unidade de eletrólise (10, 210, 310) possui um anodo (16, 216, 316) e um catodo de difusão gasosa (18, 218, 318). Ar é alimentado ao catodo (18, 218) para gerar espécies de peróxido, tal como peróxido de hidrogênio, íons peróxido ou radicais peróxido pela eletrólise de água oxigenada. Um precursor de ácido peracético, tal como ácido acetil salicílico, reagem com o peróxido para formar ácido peracético. Uma barreira seletiva de íon (20, 220) opcionalmente separa a unidade em duas câmaras, uma câmara anódica (12, 212) e uma câmara catódica (14, 214). Selecionando-se ou uma membrana permeável protónica ou uma membrana de troca aniónica para a barreira, o ácido peracético pode ser formado ou em um eletrólito alcalino na câmara catódica ou em um eletrólito ácido na câmara anódica, respectivamente.
