Abstract

"MéTODO DE USO DE PROCESSAMENTO DE QUADROS E PROCESSAMENTO DE SUBQUADROS PARA CODIFICAR FALA EM UM SISTEMA DE COMUNICAçãO, SISTEMA DE CODIFICAçãO DE FALA QUE RECEBE UM SINAL DE FALA, E, MéTODO DE CODIFICAçãO DE FALA EM UM SISTEMA DE COMUNICAçãO". Codificador de fala que analisa e classifica cada quadro de fala como sendo fala semelhante à periódica ou fala semelhante a não periódica, onde o codificador de fala realiza um processo de quantização de ganho diferente, dependendo de se a fala é periódica ou não. Se a fala for periódica, o codificador de fala aperfeiçoado obtém os ganhos de passos de sinal de fala ponderada não quantizado e realiza uma quantização pré-vetorial do ganho de livro de códigos adaptativo G~ p~ para cada subquadro do quadro antes que o processamento do subquadro comece e uma quantização vetorial de decisão retardada de laço fechado do ganho de livro de códigos fixo G~ c~. Se o quadro de fala for não periódico, o codificador de fala pode usar qualquer método conhecido de quantização de ganho. O resultado de ganhos de quantização de fala periódica dessa maneira resulta em uma redução do número de bits requeridos para representar a informação de ganho quantizada e para fala periódica, a capacidade de usar o ganho de passo quantizado para o subquadro corrente para buscar o livro de códigos fixo para o vetor de excitação de livro de códigos fixo para o subquadro corrente. Alternativamente, o novo processo de quantização de ganho, que foi usado apenas para sinais periódicos pode ser estendido para sinais não periódicos, igualmente. Essa segunda estratégia resulta em uma taxa de bits ligeiramente maior do que a dos sinais periódicos que usam a nova estratégia de quantização de ganho, mas é ainda menor do que a taxa de bits da técnica anterior.
