Abstract

"COMPOSIçãO E SUAS APLICAçõES PARA O TRATAMENTO DE DEFEITOS EM CARTILAGEM ARTICULAR". Composições e métodos são fornecidos para o tratamento de defeitos de cartilagem em animais e seres humanos. As composições da invenção incluem tecido sinovial, células sinoviais e matrizes contendo células ou tecido sinovial (ou cambium) para uso em enchimento de um defeito de cartilagem. As matrizes e preparações de célula ou tecido sinovial podem também conter um agente de proliferação, fator de transformação ou outros agentes ativos para promover a cicatrização. Um sistema de liberação de liberação controlada pode ser empregado para administrar o fator de transformação. As composições da invenção também incluem uma membrana de revestimento sinovial ou lâmina fascial desvitalizada para revestimento do defeito de cartilagem. Os métodos desta invenção são aqueles nos quais uma intervenção cirúrgica minimamente invasora é realizada para remover uma pequena porção de membrana sinovial de uma articulação. Porções da membrana sinovial, ou células expandidas in vitro, são implantadas sozinhas ou em uma matriz, no sítio do defeito, onde elas produzem novo tecido de cartilagem e reparam o defeito.
