A presente invenção refere-se a um injetor de combustível unitário (50), o injetor (50) internamente preparando o combustível durante um evento de injeção em uma pressão suficiente para injeção por meio de um intensificador (84) acionado por um fluido de acionamento pressurizado de não-combustível seletivamente conduzido para o intensificador (84), que inclui um controlador seletivamente acionável (300) interposto em uma passagem de combustível (74), a passagem de combustível (74) efetuando a comunicação de fluido entre uma câmara de combustível intensificadora e uma válvula de agulha (78), o controlador (300) sendo deslocável entre uma disposição aberta e uma disposíção fechada para seletivamente abrir e fechar a passagem de combustível (74) durante o evento de injeção.
