Abstract

"MéTODO PARA PROCESSAMENTO DE LIGAS DE TITâNIO BETA". Uma modalidade da presente invenção compreende o processamento de uma liga de titânio beta por um método que inclui as etapas de usinagem a frio da liga e a seguir, cura direta da liga durante um tempo total de cura inferior a 4 horas. O método pode incluir fabricar a liga num artigo de manufatura tal como por exemplo, uma barra, um fio, ou uma mola espiral. O método pode ser utilizado na produção de artigo com alta resistência à tração, enquanto mantém a ductilidade. A liga de titânio beta pode ser qualquer liga de titânio beta, por exemplo, uma liga compreendendo em peso: 3,0% a 4,0% de alumínio, 7,5 a 8,5% de vanádio, 5,5 a 6,5% de cromo, 3,5 a 4,5% de molibdênio, 3,5 a 4,5% de zircónio e titânio. A liga pode ser usinada a quente, usinada a frio para dar uma redução de 5 a 60% e curada diretamente durante um tempo total inferior a 4 horas.
