Trata-se de um aparelho e método de construção de pneu, onde o corte no comprimento da banda de rodagem é transportado até um tambor sobre um transportador tendo roletes guia móveis lateralmente e roletes guia invertidos que engatam as superfícies internas dos ombros levantados da banda de rodagem. O controle do comprimento da banda de rodagem é proporcionado pela medição do comprimento da banda de rodagem antes e enquanto ela está sendo envolvida no tambor e depois variando o estiramento e razão de aplicação da banda de rodagem no tambor para proporcionar uma emenda precisa das extremidades da banda de rodagem. A posição das extremidades da banda de rodagem é controlada por uma barra batedora para assegurar a colocação da extremidade dianteira no tambor e depois colocação da extremidade traseira no tambor sobre a extremidade dianteira para proporcionar a emenda desejada.
