Abstract
<B>APARELHO E PROCESSO DE SEPARAçãO DE PARTìCULAS<D> São revelados um aparelho e processo para filtrar ou separar partículas. O aparelho tem um rotor de centrífuga girável em torno de um eixo de rotação. Uma câmara de fluido gira com o rotor. Uma substância é fornecida á entrada da câmara. Um leito saturado fluidificado de primeiras partículas forma-se dentro da câmara de fluido e obstrui o fluxo de segundas partículas através da câmara. Em uma modalidade da invenção, substâncias aditivas alteram a velocidade de sedimentação das primeiras partículas para modificar as características de filtração do leito saturado fluidificado. A câmara de fluido inclui uma parede estendendo-se entre uma entrada e uma saída para formar um interior de câmara de fluido. O interior converge a partir de uma posição de área em seção transversal máxima em direção à entrada. Um entalhe ou um degrau pode ser formado em uma superfície interna da parede da câmara de fluido para melhorar a separação de partículas dentro da câmara de fluido.
