Abstract

"PROCESSO PARA RECUPERAR XANTOFILAS A PARTIR DE FARINHA DE GLúTEN DE MILHO". Processos aperfeiçoados para a recuperação de xantofilas a partir de farinha de glúten de milho são providos. Mais especificamente, processos para a recuperação de xantofilas a partir de glúten de milho, em que glúten de milho relativamente seco é extraído com um álcool orgânico, seguido por uma reação de saponificação para converter os ésteres de xantofila a xantofilas são descritos. Também são descritos processos para a recuperação de xantofilas a partir de farinha de glúten de milho, em que farinha de glúten seca é extraída com um primeiro solvente contendo um antioxidante e o extrato resultante é, opcionalmente, purificado. Usando estes processos, as xantofilas podem ser recuperadas a partir de farinha de glúten de milho em rendimentos mais elevados, em maiores eficiências, e em mais alta pureza, quando comparados a processos da técnica anterior. Além disto, os produtos de xantofila recuperados nestes processos são idealmente adequados para uso em produtos alimentícios e em substâncias farmacêuticos. Estes materiais são especialmente adequados para uso em rações para aves domésticas para proporcionar a cor ou matriz amarelo saudável, desejado em frangos e gemas de ovo.
