Abstract

"MéTODO E SISTEMA PARA MAPEAR UM ENDEREçO DE CONTROLE DE ACESSO DE MìDIA ORIGINAL A UM ENDEREçO DE MAC VIRTUAL LOCALMENTE ADMINISTRADO úNICO, MéTODO PARA IMPEDIR FRAUDE DE ASSINANTE EM UMA REDE DE ETHERNET, E, FUNçãO DE MAPEAMENTO DE ENDEREçO". Um método e sistema para mapear endereços de Controle de Acesso de Mídia (MAC) originais a endereços de MAC virtuais localmente administrados únicos em uma rede de Ethernet. Um nó de acesso usa uma função de mapeamento de endereço para mapear cada endereço de MAC original a um de uma pluralidade de endereços de MAC virtuais localmente administrados, e vice-versa. Os seis bits mais significantes do primeiro octeto do endereço são usados para definir um domínio para o endereço, e os segundos bits menos significantes do primeiro octeto indicam que o endereço é um endereço de MAC localmente admnistrado. O segundo e terceiro octetos do endereço são usados para indicar um uso específico de unidade. Os últimos três octetos do endereço indicam um endereço de MAC único de unidade organizacionalmente designado. Funções de mapeamento de endereço adicionais podem mapear endereços originais de fontes diferentes sobre a mesma rede de Ethernet enquanto mantendo a exclusividade de cada endereço de MAC virtual.
