Abstract

"PROCESSO PARA PREPARAR áCIDOS 3-HIDROXICARBOXìLICOS". A presente invenção refere-se a um processo para hidratar um ácido carboxílico alfa, beta-insaturado, tal como ácido acrílico, em água, na presença de um catalisador selecionado de dióxido de carbono, um óxido de enxofre, um óxido de nitrogênio, ácido clorídrico gasoso, uma base inorgânica ou orgânica tendo um pKa maior do que 7, para preparar um ácido 3-hidroxicarboxílico tal como ácido 3-hidroxipropiónico. A invenção também refere-se a um processo para recuperar ácido 3-hidroxipropiónico de uma solução compreendendo o ácido 3-hidroxipropiónico.
