Abstract

"MéTODO E DISPOSITIVO PARA LER INDICADORES BIOLóGICOS, E, MEIO LEGìVEL POR COMPUTADOR". Um leitor de alta capacidade detecta fluorescência emitida por um indicador biológico para determinar a eficácia de um ciclo de esterilização. O leitor permite um grande número de indicadores biológicos ser lido em sucessão rápida. Por exemplo, os indicadores biológicos podem ser pré-incubados em uma incubadora de alta capacidade separada, e então colocados em um leitor de alta capacidade para detecção de fluorescência. O leitor faz uma determinação de crescimento positivo ou negativo baseado em uma comparação única de limiar de fluorescência para cada indicador biológico pré-incubado. A comparação única de limiar de fluorescência envolve comparação de fluorescência medida a uma fluorescência de linha base de um indicador biológico de referência. O leitor adquire a fluorescência de linha base do indicador biológico de referência, e depois disso usa a fluorescência de linha base como o limiar para indicadores biológicos subseqüentes processados pelo leitor. Além disso, o leitor pode gerar saída para armazenamento, processamento e exibição de resultados de indicador biológico.
