Abstract

"MéTODO E APARELHO PARA ESCALONAR TRANSMISSõES ASSìNCRONAS". A presente invenção fornece um método de escalonar transmissões assíncronas para uma pluralidade de unidades assinantes. O método inclui receber informação associada a uma pluralidade de unidades assinantes que têm dados de enlace ascendente a transmitir, a informação incluindo informação de recuo de tempo de enlace ascendente associada a cada uma das unidades assinantes. Duas ou mais unidades assinantes são então selecionadas de um conjunto de unidades assinantes tendo um diferencial de recuo de tempo que é abaixo de um limite pré-determinado, em que o diferencial de recuo de tempo é a diferença entre o recuo de tempo de uma primeira unidade assinante e o recuo de tempo de uma segunda unidade assinante ainda seletivamente recuada por um múltiplo do tamanho do segmento de transmissão, que minimiza a diferença. Os segmentos de transmissão que estão disponíveis para o enlace ascendente de dados, são então alocados entre as duas ou mais unidades assinantes selecionadas, o que limita o número de segmentos de transmissão que têm pelo menos um de sobreposição ou hiato, e a quantidade de qualquer sobreposição ou hiato, para minimizar as oportunidades de escalonamento desperdiçadas.
