Abstract

"DESINFECçãO FOTOATIVADA". A presente invenção refere-se a uma desinfecção fotoativada. Em particular, a presente invenção refere-se a uma desinfecção fotoativada na cavidade oral. Foi descrito um aparelho dentário que compreende uma fonte de luz produzindo luz a um comprimento de onda e potência predeterminados, e um meio de transmissão ótico para encadeamento da luz da fonte de luz para pelo menos um lado externo de um dente. Preferencialmente, o meio de transmissão ótico compreende pelo menos uma guia ótica. Em uma modalidade preferida, o meio de transmissão ótico compreende um par de guias de luz substancialmente paralelas alongadas, cada guia de luz tendo uma extremidade distal provida com uma superfície reflexiva inclinada a 45<198> com a direção de transmissão de luz ao longo das guias de luz, as superfícies reflexivas das guias de luz sendo opostas de modo que a luz emitida de cada guia de luz seja paralela, mas de direção oposta. Preferencialmente, a fonte de luz é um diodo de emissão de luz ou um arranjo de diodos de emissão de luz e tem um comprimento de onda de 550 a 690 nm, mais preferencialmente de 600 a 680 nm, ainda mais preferencialmente de 625 a 660 nm.
