Abstract

"MéTODO DE MELHORAMENTO DE PLANTA E PLANTA OBTIDA". A presente invenção provê métodos para usar genótipo de marcador genético (por exemplo, informação de diversidade de seqüência de gene) para melhorar o processo de desenvolvimento de variedades de planta (por exemplo, híbridos de cruzamento simples) com melhorada performance fenotípica. São providos os métodos para predizer o valor de um caractere fenotípico em uma planta. Os métodos usam a informação genotípica, fenotípica e, opcionalmente, de relação familiar para uma primeira população de plantas para identificar uma associação entre pelo menos um marcador genético e o caractere fenotípico, e, então usam a associação para predizer o valor do caractere fenotípico em um ou mais membros de uma segunda população alvo de genótipo de marcador conhecido. São também providos os métodos para identificar novas variantes alélicas que afetam o caractere. São também fornecidas plantas selecionadas, providas, ou produzidas por qualquer um dos métodos da invenção, plantas transgênicas criadas por qualquer um dos métodos da invenção, e sistemas digitais para realizar os métodos da invenção.
