Abstract

"MéTODO PARA MONITORAR UMA ESTRUTURA ALONGADA FLEXìVEL COM UMA SUPERFìCIE GERALMENTE CILìNDRICA, E, APARELHO PARA MONITORAR UMA ESTRUTURA ALONGADA FLEXìVEL". Uma estrutura alongada flexível, como um tubo ascendente flexível (10), compreendendo, pelo menos, uma camada (20) de fios de aço próxima da superfície que se estende, pelo menos parcialmente, ao longo do comprimento da estrutura, pode ser monitorada por indução de um pequeno campo magnético alternado nos fios de aço usando uma bobina eletromagnética, e monitorando a densidade de fluxo magnético próxima da superfície da estrutura de modo a avaliar a tensão e, assim, detectar se quaisquer fios foram rompidos. Ao usar um arranjo de sondas eletromagnéticas de medida de tensão (24) em torno da estrutura, pode-se obter alguma resolução espacial com relação à localização de qualquer ruptura nos fios.
