Abstract
"APARELHO PARA MEDIR A VELOCIDADE DAS PARTìCULAS TRANSPORTADAS POR UM FLUIDO ESCOANDO ATRAVéS DE UM TUBO". é descrito um projeto de sistema óptico para medir a velocidade dos fluidos escoando através de tubos ou outros condutos. O sistema óptico consiste de um meio para suprir dois feixes através de uma janela de parede de tubo, focalizado em dois pontos alinhados ao longo de um eixo geométrico do tubo e separados por uma distância conhecida, e meio para detectar luz que é espalhada por partículas transportadas na corrente fluida através de uma segunda janela, que é disposta no lado oposto do tubo. Medindo-se o retardo de tempo entre os sinais detectados, pode ser determinada a velocidade do fluido. Os feixes de luz supridos são focalizados em um cone de luz raso e são bloqueados por uma obstrução disposta atrás da segunda janela. A luz dispersa passa através de uma abertura atrás da segunda janela que circunda o obscurecimento e é focalizada em uma superfície detectora.
