Abstract
APARELHO E MÉTODO PARA MEDIR A VELOCIDADE DE UM FLUIDO EM ESCOAMENTO. Um velocímetro L2F compreende uma sonda para inserção em um fluido, a sonda tendo nela uma área aberta para permitir que o fluido a atravesse. A sonda compreende um sistema de iluminação para direcionar um par de feixes de luz separados por uma distância através da área aberta, e um sistema de coleta para coletar luz dispersada para a frente, dispersada a partir de partículas no fluido. O sistema de coleta tem um eixo óptico em comum com o sistema de iluminação. O velocímetro ainda compreende um conjunto eletro-óptico conectado à sonda para fornecer luz para o sistema de iluminação, para receber luz coletada a partir do sistema de coleta, para medir um tempo decorrido em flutuações da luz dispersada para a frente criadas por partículas que atravessam o par de feixes de luz, e para calcular a velocidade do fluido com base no tempo decorrido e a distância de separação.
