Abstract

"COMPOSIçõES BASEADAS NO VìRUS SENECA VALLEY E MéTODOS PARA TRATAR DOENçA". A presente invenção refere-se a um novo picornavírus que é chamado vírus Seneca Valley ('SVV'). A invenção fornece ácidos nucléicos de SVV isolados e proteínas codificadas por esses ácidos nucléicos. Adicionalmente, a invenção fornece anticorpos que são produzidos contra as proteínas SVV. Pelo fato de SVV ter a habilidade de matar seletivamente alguns tipos de tumores, a invenção fornece métodos de usar SW e polipeptídeos de SVV para tratar câncer. Pelo fato de SVV selecionar especificamente certos tumores, a invenção fornece métodos de usar ácidos nucléicos e proteínas de SVV para detectar câncer. Adicionalmente, devido a informação fornecida pelos mecanismos tumor-específicos de SVV, a invenção fornece métodos de fazer novos derivados de vírus oncolíticos e de alterar vírus para ter tropismos tumor-específicos.
