Abstract
"MéTODO E APARELHO PARA VARREDURA DE CANAIS DE FREQüêNCIA PARA CANDIDATOS A HANDOFF ENQUANTO SE MINIMIZA O CONSUMO DE BATERIA". Técnicas de varredura de outros canais de frequência por estações base candidatas são descritas. Em um esquema, a varredura de outros canais de freqüência é realizada com base na qualidade de sinal recebido (por exemplo, Ec/Io de piloto) para uma estação base ativa que um dispositivo sem fio está monitorando por mensagens específicas de usuário e de overhead. A varredura é bypassada se a Ec/Io do piloto ativo exceder um limite alto e é realizada se Ec/Io de piloto ativo estiver entre o limite alto e um limite baixo. Em outro esquema, a varredura de outros canais de freqüência é realizada a uma taxa que é uma função da Ec/Io de piloto ativo. Em outro esquema adicional, a varredura de outros canais de freqüência é realizada com base na Ec/Io de piloto ativo e utilizando adicionalmente um temporizador adaptável. O temporizador é configurado para um valor inicial e depois disto ajustado por quantias variáveis determinadas pelas medições Ec/Io de piloto ativo.
