Abstract

"DISPOSITIVO DE MìDIA" Um receptor (3) para sinais de televisão tem uma saída de vídeo primária (22a) conectada a uma TV primária (2a) e uma saída de vídeo secundária (22b) conectada a uma TV secundária (2b) em uma localização remota (42b). O receptor (3) pode ser controlado por um controle remoto infravermelho (28) ou diretamente ou a partir da localização remota (42b) via um extensor de controle remoto (40). A TV primária (2a) pode ser uma TV tela ampla com um formato de imagem 16:9, enquanto a TV secundária (2b) tem um formato de imagem 4:3. O receptor (3) pode emitir de vídeo adequados para qualquer formato, mas deve aplicar o mesmo formato a ambas as saídas de vídeo primária e secundária (22a, 22b). O receptor (3) detecta se os sinais de controle estão chegando diretamente ou via o extensor de controle remoto, e automaticamente seleciona o formato correto. Em uma outra modalidade, uma estação base de áudio sem fio (55) é conectada ao receptor (3) para transmitir sinais de áudio e programar dados para um receptor de áudio sem fio (60). Os dados de programação são codificados como caracterespara exibição pelo receptor de áudio sem fio (60). O receptor de áudio sem fio (60) também transmite sinais de controle de usuário de volta à estação base (55) para controlar a saída do receptor (3). Essa modalidade permite conveniente audição de estações de rádio e exibição de informação de programação.
