Abstract
MéTODOS DE PRODUçãO DE áLCOOL, áLCOOL PURIFICADO E APARELHO PARA PRODUçãO DE ETANOL A presente invenção fornece métodos, aparelhos e kits de produção de etanol e outros álcoois. Os métodos envolvem a fermentação de material orgânico em mistura de fermentação em biogás que compreende metano; conversão de pelo menos uma parte do biogás em gás de síntese que compreende CO e H~ 2~; e contato de pelo menos uma parte do gás de síntese com catalisador para a produção de álcool. Em algumas realizações, microorganismo que reduz ferro férrico em ferro ferroso é incluído na mistura de fermentação para aumentar a eficiência da fermentação e o rendimento de álcool. A presente invenção também fornece método de produção de álcool que envolve a fermentação de material orgânico em biogás que compreende metano; remoção de sulfidrilas do biogás; conversão de pelo menos uma parte do biogás em gás de síntese que compreende CO e H~ 2~; contato de pelo menos uma parte do gás de síntese com catalisador livre de enxofre para produzir álcool substancialmente livre de enxofre; e purificação do álcool em que o álcool purificado é substancialmente livre de enxofre e compreende menos de 5% de metanol e pelo menos 70% de álcoois C~ 2~+ em peso.
