Abstract
CéLULAS TRONCO OBTIDAS DA POLPA DECìDUA OU DE DENTES PERMANENTES E DOS GERMES DENTAIS, CAPAZES DE PRODUZIR TECIDO óSSEO HUMANO. A presente invenção refere-se a um método que prevê o isolamento de uma nova subpopulação de células tronco derivadas da polpa dental, cuja diferenciação em osteoblastos leva à subseqüente produção e emprego de um tecido ósseo, denominado LAB (osso autólogo vivo, em inglês, Living Autologous Bone). Especificamente, a invenção descreve: 1) o isolamento de células tronco a partir da polpa de dentes decíduos e permanentes e de germes dentais, obtidas de pacientes humanos; 2) o crescimento destas células in vitro, sob condições específicas que permitem o isolamento de uma subpopulação celular, a qual, depois de diferenciação em osteoblastos, é capaz de produzir uma matriz extracelular in vitro, idêntica à detectável em tecido ósseo; 3) a aplicação desta população celular selecionada e diferenciada de modo a produzir tecido ósseo autólogo in vitro, contendo osteoblastos vitais; 4) a preservação do osso autólogo vivo sob condições as quais garantem a vitalidade celular; 5) a aplicação do osso autólogo vivo em pacientes doadores para reconstruir tecido ósseo, conforme requerido na prática diária na odontologia, na cirurgia maxilo-facial e na ortopedia.
