São apresentadas na presente invenção composições alimentícias para animais de estimação exibindo uma Máxima Força de Relaxamento e uma Máxima Tensão de Relaxamento definidas. As composições alimentícias para animais de estimação exigem tempo prolongado de mastigação pelo animal de estimação. Em modalidades opcionais, as composições alimentícias para animais de estimação compreendem um ou mais dentre água, umectante, uma fonte de grãos, ou um agente de reticulação.
