Abstract

"PROCESSO PARA A PRODUçãO DE áLCOOIS DE AçúCAR". A presente invenção refere-se a um processo para produção de poliálcoois na forma de álcoois de açúcar do grupo sorbitol e/ou manitol e, opcionalmente, outros C2- a C6- polióis, no qual pelo menos um mono-, dioligo- e/ou polissacarídeo, que contém pelo menos uma unidade de glicose e/ou pelo menos uma unidade de frutose é reagido continuamente na presença de um catalisador de hidrogenação a base de rutênio (Ru) ou então óxido de rutênio em fase aquaso, à temperatura elevada e pressão elevada, com hidrogênio. Com isso, são ajustados uma temperatura de pelo menos 100 C, uma pressão de plo menos 15MPa e um tempo de permanência dos reagentes durante a hidrogenação catalítica de, no máximo, 600 s. O referido processo é, particularmente, adequado para a produção de álcoois de açúcar, sorbital e/ou manitol, ou de C2- a C6- polióis de glicose, frutose ou de um di-, oligo- ou polissacarídeo, que contém uma unidade de glicose ou uma unidade de frutose, em particular, sacarose, sendo que praticamente todo sacarídeo usado é reagido em que seja caramelizado. Além disso, o rendimento dos ditos álcoois de açúcar ou C2- a C6- polióis é excepcionalmente alto, enquanto que a seletividade para os produtos desejados pode varias de forma simples com amplos limites.
