Abstract
ALCOóIS GRAXOS DE COMPRIMENTO DE CADEIA MéDIO COMO ESTIMULADORES DE HEMATOPOESE. A presente invenção refere-se a alcoóis graxos de comprimento de cadeia médio tais como octanol, decanol, dodecanol, ou análogos dos mesmos, alcoóis estes que podem ser usados como um estimulador de hematopoese, proliferação hematopoética de célula-tronco e/ou proliferação de um ou mais dos progenitores de glóbulos vermelhos ou brancos (por exemplo, eritrócito, leucócito, neutrófilo, granulócito, megacariócito, ou qualquer combinação dos mesmos). A invenção também refere-se ao tratamento de mielossupressão; em particular, isso inclui o tratamento de anemia e/ou neutropenia associada a quimioterapia e/ou radioterapia. Além disso, anemia que se origina de insuficiência renal crónica ou tratamento de pacientes infectados por HIV com AZT (zidovudina), ou outros inibidores de transcriptase reversa, podem ser tratados. Além disso, neutropenia que se origina de infecções, doenças hematológicas, ou deficiências nutricionais podem ser tratadas. Ela também refere-se a redução de toxicidade do fármaco e intensificação da eficiência de fármaco.
