Abstract
"CORDãO UMBILICAL DE ENERGIA PARA áGUAS PROFUNDAS". A presente invenção refere-se a aperfeiçoamentos em cordões umbilicais, especialmente em cordões umbilicais para aplicações em águas profundas. Os cordões umbilicais são usados para transmitir energia e sinais de fluidos de e para uma instalação submarina por meio de vários elementos alongados. Um cordão umbilical consiste em um grupo de um ou mais elementos alongados ativos, tais como cabos elétricos, cabos ou tubos de fibra ótica, cabeados em conjunto para flexibilidade e super-revestidos ou blindados para resistência mecânica e lastro. De acordo com uma característica importante da presente invenção, pelo menos um dos cabos de sinal é encerrado dentro de um tubo dedicado e o cordão umbilical é suspenso de uma plataforma ou similar e o cabo de sinal elétrico é suspenso separadamente do cordão umbilical.
