Abstract
"MéTODOS MENOS INVASIVOS PARA ABLAçãO DE PLACAS DE GORDURA". A presente invenção refere-se a ablação de placas de gordura epicardiais que é realizada usando um cateter inserido através da parede torácica, usando ablação por ultra-som, ou usando um cateter equipado com um transdutor de ultra-som direcional e capaz de ser alinhado com o epicárdio. As localizações de placas de gordura epicardiais são determinadas usando métodos de imagem não-invasivos, ou usando mapas elétricos. Essas localizações são depois exibidas em mapas ou imagens do coração, e desse modo tornadas alvo de terapia minimamente invasiva ou não-invasiva. Os métodos da presente invenção são menos invasivos do que métodos de ablação convencionais e permitem acesso flexível a substancialmente qualquer ponto no epicárdio.
