Abstract

REDUçãO DE EMISSõES DE MERCúRIO A PARTIR DA QUEIMA DE CARVãO. A presente invenção refere-se a componentes sorventes contendo cálcio, alumina, sílica, e halogênio que são usados em combinação durante a combustão do carvão para produzir benefícios ambientais. Os sorventes são adicionados ao carvão à frente da combustão e/ou são adicionados na chama ou a jusante da chama, preferivelmente em temperaturas mínimas para garantir a formação completa das estruturas refratárias que resultam em várias vantagens dos métodos. Quando usados juntos, os componentes reduzem as emissões de mercúrio e enxofre; reduzem as emissões de mercúrio elementar e oxidado; aumentam a eficiência do processo de queima do carvão através de desescorificação de tubos de caldeira; aumentam o nível de Hg, As, Pb, e/ou Cl na cinza de carvão; diminuem os níveis de metais pesados lixiviáveis (tais como Hg) na cinza, preferivelmente para níveis abaixo de limites detectáveis; e fabricam um produto de cinza altamente de cimento.
