Abstract

PROCESSO PARA LIXìVIA DE áCIDO DE MINéRIOS DE LATERITA. Um processo para a recuperação de níquel e cobalto de um minério de laterita niquelífera incluindo as etapas de: a) fornecer um minério de laterita niquelífera e separar este minério em sua fração de limonita de magnésio baixo e fração de saprolita de magnésio elevado; b) tratar a fração de limonita em solução de ácido em uma etapa de lixívia primária de pressão elevada para produzir uma lama de lixívia primária; c) adicionar a fração de saprolita à lama de lixívia primária para iniciar a precipitação de ferro como hematita e/ou goetita, ao mesmo tempo em que simultaneamente liberando também ácido da precipitação de ferro, para efetuar uma etapa de lixívia secundária atmosférica, produzindo uma lama de lixívia secundária; onde toda a água empregada para preparar as soluções de ácido e/ou lamas de minério, tem uma composição iónica que substancialmente evita a formação de jarosita.
