PROCESSO PARA A PRODUçãO FERMENTATIVA DE VITAMINA C, CéLULA HOSPEDEIRA E PROCESSO PARA A PRODUçãO DE CéLULAS. A presente invenção se refere a microorganismos recentemente identificados capazes de produção direta de ácido L-ascórbico (aqui depois também referido como Vitamina C). A invenção também se refere à seqúências de polinucleotídeo compreendendo genes que codificam proteínas as quais estão envolvidas na síntese de Vitamina C. A invenção também se caracteriza por polinucleotideos compreendendo as seqúências de polinucleotídeo de comprimento total dos novos genes e fragmentos das mesmas, novos polipeptídeos codificados por polinucleotídeos e fragmentos dos mesmos bem como seus equivalentes funcionais. A presente invenção também se refere ao uso dos referidos polinucleotideos e polipeptídeos como ferramentas biotecnológicas na produção de Vitamina C a partir de microorganismos, pelo que uma modificação dos referidos polinucleotídeos e/ou polipeptideos codificados tem um impacto direto ou indireto sobre o rendimento, produção e/ou eficácia de produção do produto da fermentação no referido microorganismo. Também incluídos são métodos/processos de uso dos polinucleotídeos e seqúéncias de polinucleotídeo modificadas para transformar microorganismos hospedeiros. A invenção também se refere a microorganismos geneticamente manipulados e seu uso para a produção direta de Vitamina C.PROCESS FOR THE FERMENTATIVE PRODUCTION OF VITAMIN C, HOST CELL AND PROCESS FOR CELL PRODUCTION. The present invention relates to newly identified microorganisms capable of direct production of L-ascorbic acid (hereinafter also referred to as Vitamin C). The invention also relates to polynucleotide sequences comprising protein-encoding genes which are involved in the synthesis of Vitamin C. The invention is also characterized by polynucleotides comprising full length polynucleotide sequences of novel genes and fragments thereof, new encoded polypeptides by polynucleotides and fragments thereof as well as their functional equivalents. The present invention also relates to the use of said polynucleotides and polypeptides as biotechnological tools in the production of Vitamin C from microorganisms, whereby a modification of said encoded polynucleotides and / or polypeptides has a direct or indirect impact on yield, production and / or production efficiency of the fermentation product in said microorganism. Also included are methods / methods of using polynucleotides and modified polynucleotide sequences to transform host microorganisms. The invention also relates to genetically engineered microorganisms and their use for direct production of Vitamin C.
