Abstract

DNA DE OCORRêNCIA NãO-NATURAL, CONSTRUCTO DE DNA RECOMBINANTE PARA TRANSFORMAçãO DE PLANTA E MéTODO PARA PRODUZIR UMA PLANTA TRANSGêNICA COM UMA CARACTERìSTICA AGRONÈMICA MELHORADA. A presente invenção refere-se a eficiência do uso de nitrogênio de planta em milho que melhorou pela transformação com um gene de fiavoemoglobina. Plantas compreendendo um gene de flavoemoglobina têm níveis de óxido nítrico (NO) reduzidos, acúmulo de biomassa aumentado sob uma condição de crescimento de nitrogênio suficiente e conteúdo de clorofila aumentado sob uma condição de crescimento de nitrogênio limitante. Adicionalmente, essas plantas transformadas evidenciam níveis mais altos de rendimento.
