Abstract

MéTODO PARA PROMOVER REVASCULARIZAçãO FISIOLÈGICA BENEFICA DE TECIDO RETINAL ISQUêMICO E MéTODO DE TRIAGEM PARA IDENTIFICAR E AVALIAR A EFICáCIA TERAPêUTICA DE AGENTES TERAPêUTICOS POTENCIAIS PARA TRATAR DOENçAS NEOVASCULARES RETINAIS. A presente invençào provê um método de tratamento para promover a revascularizaçã.o fisiológica benéfica de tecido retinal isquêmico. O método compreende administrar a um mamífero sofrendo de uma isquemia vascular retinal uma quantidade terapeuticamente eficaz de um fragmento angiostático de triptof anil- tRNA sintetase (TrpRS), desse modo inibindo simultaneamente a neovascularização patológica enquanto promovendo a revascularização fisiológica benéfica das áreas danificadas da retina. Em uma modalidade preferida, o fragmento angiostático de TrpRS é T2-TrpRS ou T2-TrpRS-GD. Preferivelmente, o mamífero é um paciente humano sofrendo de isquemia retinal. Um método de triagem para identificar e avaliar os agentes terapêuticos para tratar doenças neovasculares retinais também é revelado.
