Abstract

PROCESSO DE PRODUÇçO DE ÍNDIO METÁLICO PURO A PARTIR DE àXIDO DE ZINCO E/OU SOLUÇçO CONTENDO O METAL. A presente invenção tem por fim fornecer um processo inovador de produção de índio metálico puro, utilizando concentrados sulfetados de zinco e chumbo como fontes do metal. O processo começa com o óxido de zinco produzido por processo Waelz do resíduo de Lixiviação Neutra do calcinado de óxido de zinco. Mas o overflow (ou sobrenadante) da lixiviação branda de underflow (ou resíduo) neutro de Lixiviação Neutra de calcinado de zinco também contém índio em menor proporção e pode ou não fazer parte do processo global de recuperação de índio. A nova tecnologia está caracterizada pelo fato de compreender as seguintes etapas: a) produção de pré-concentrado de índio; b) produção de cemento de índio: compreendendo por sua vez ao menos uma lixiviação branda e ao menos uma lixiviação forte do produto cemento de índio obtido na lixiviação redutora; c) produção de solução de índio; d) extração por solvente orgânico do índio; e) cementação do índio; f) fusão, purificação e lingotamento do metal; g) eletrólise de índio para obtenção de produto de alta pureza, superior a 99,995%.
