Abstract

PROCESSO PARA PRODUÇçO DE BIODIESEL A PARTIR DE àLEOS VEGETAIS E GORDURAS UTILIZANDO CATALISADORES HETEROGÊNEOS A presente invenção pertence ao campo dos processos de transesterificação de óleos e gorduras para produção de óleo diesel. A invenção provê de um novo método para a produção de óleo diesel, através da transesterificação de ésteres de ácidos graxas presentes em óleos vegetais e gorduras utilizando um novo catalisador composto de um óxido de metal do grupo V, de fórmula X~ 2~0~ 5~, como o Nb~ 2~O~ 5~, pentóxido de nióbio. Diferentemente dos processos encontrados tradicionalmente no estado-da-técnica, a conversão de óleos em produtos de alta pureza, inclusive a glicerina, alcança rendimentos da ordem de 100% utilizando-se uma quantidade de catalisador signiticativamente menor em relação à quantidade de óleo processado, quando o óleo de soja, de algodão e de canola, entre outros, são processados através do método dessa invenção.
