Abstract

PROCESSO E DISPOSITIVO PARA A OXIDAÇÃO CATALÍTICA DE GASES QUE CONTÊM 502 POR MEIO DE OXIGÊNIO. A presente invenção refere-se a um processo para a oxidação catalítica contínua, completa ou parcial, de um gás básico, que contém O,1 a 66% em volume de dióxido de enxofre, além de oxigênio, sendo que o catalisador é mantido ativo com uma condução de processo pseudoisotérmica, sob introdução ou remoção de energia. Além disso, a presente invenção refere-se a um dispositivo pra a oxidação catalítica continua, completa ou parcial, de um gás básico, que contém dióxido de enxofre e oxigênio, caracterizado por pelo menos um aparelho de contato de tubos, que é um trocador de calor em posição vertical, de pelo menos um tubo de paredes duplas, cujo tubo interno, enchido com catalisador, forma um tubo de reação, sendo que calor em torno do tubo de reação é transferido em corrente contínua e um absorvedor para separação de S03 é ligado a jusante do aparelho de contato de tubos. O catalisador está ajustado previamente em sua reatividade por mistura com material inerte. O dispositivo de acordo com a invenção é particularmente apropriado para realização do processo de acordo com a invenção.
