Abstract
Método e sistema para detectar e localizar, de forma passiva, defeitos nos chicotes de cabos elétricos. Um método e um sistema para a detecção de defeitos em um cabo (100) ou em um chicote (200) de cabos inclui um par de sensores (150) envoltos ao redor do cabo ou chicote, um dispositivo de captura de dados (310) para monitorar os pulsos no sinal produzido pelos sensores ao redor dos cabos, e uma máquina de diagnóstico (320). A máquina de diagnóstico inclui um módulo de analise (450) para determinar as caracteristicas dos sinais capturados pelo dispositivo de captura de dados e um módulo de decisão (470) para determinar se o pulso representa um defeito no cabo e a localização do defeito. O sistema opera de forma passiva e pode ser usado para monitorar os cabos ao mesmo tempo em que estes são usados para transportar sinais ou correntes, e não requer a desconexão dos cabos a serem monitorados.
