Abstract

L'invention concerne un métal coulé dont la teneur en très petites particules en dispersion est comprise entre 30 et 2000 particules/mm<2> de section du métal. Ces particules ont des diamètres compris entre 0,1 mu m et 10 mu m. Elles sont composées de MnS et d'oxydes composés d'un silicate de manganèse où la proportion des oxydes de manganèse varie entre 50 % et 80 % du total des oxydes de manganèse et des oxydes de silicium, d'oxydes résiduels et, le cas échéant, d'oxyde de l'un au moins des éléments suivants: Zr, Ti, Ce, Hf, Y et Al. Étant donné que le métal coulé contient une quantité importante de particules en dispersion qui interviennent déjà comme noyau dans la précipitation du MnS, il peut servir à la confection de plaques d'acier ayant un bon coefficient de dureté HAZ et à la confection de feuillard d'acier d'une excellente qualité pour l'emboutissage profond.
