Abstract
Un procédé de brassage par induction dans lequel le métal fondu est brassé électromagnétiquement pendant la coulée continue dans un moule consiste à modifier la dépression de la surface du bain, soit pour réduire soit pour intensifier le brassage du métal en fusion produit par l'agitateur électromagnétique principal. Un modificateur de brassage magnétique c.a. est placé à proximité de la région de la surface du bain afin de produire un brassage électromagnétique du métal fondu à ce niveau, contrer le mouvement rotatif de l'agitateur électromagnétique principal et produire une surface exempte de turbulences, ou intensifier le mouvement rotatif de l'agitateur magnétique principal. Ces deux modes d'exploitation permettent d'utiliser une machine à couler des métaux fondus pour lesquels des conditions de fonctionnement extrêmement variables sont nécessaires.
