Abstract

Installation et procédé permettant de produire en toute sécurité du peroxyde d'hydrogène par injection de bulles minuscules dispersées d'hydrogène (28) et d'oxygène (34) dans un milieu liquide (24) en écoulement rapide. Les bulles minuscules sont enrobées par le milieu liquide en un volume suffisant pour interdire toute réaction explosive entre l'hydrogène et l'oxygène. Le milieu liquide est constitué d'une solution acide aqueuse et d'un catalyseur métallique du groupe VIII (14). L'hydrogène (28) est projeté dans le milieu en écoulement (24) afin d'y être dissous. Les bulles d'oxygène (34) réagissent avec l'hydrogène dissous pour former le peroxyde d'hydrogène (72). Selon le mode de réalisation préféré, le milieu liquide s'écoule à une vitesse d'au moins 10 pieds par seconde pour produire un régime d'écoulement bouillonnant dans le réacteur. De l'eau (12) et le catalyseur (14) sont introduits dans la cuve (16). De préférence, une certaine quantité de stabiliseur de peroxyde d'hydrogène est déversée dans la cuve (16). Cette méthode et cette installation permettent d'obtenir du peroxyde d'hydrogène dans des conditions de sécurité et à un faible coût.
