L'invention a pour objet une lingotière de coulée continue des métaux, du type constitué par un assemblage de quatre plaques métalliques (13, 14) comporta nt des canaux ménagés dans leur intérieur, orientés verticalement et destinés à y f aire circuler un fluide de refroidissement, caractérisée en ce qu'au moins deux desdi tes plaques (13, 14) comportent dans l'intérieur de leur partie supérieure un ou des canaux horizontaux (6a, 6b) de circulation de fluide de refroidissement indépendants de sdits canaux orientés verticalement, lesdits canaux orientés verticalement s'arrêtant en-dessous de ladite partie supérieure.
