- le niveau où s'initie la solidification est fixé en permanence à l'extrémité supérieure des plaques métalliques de la lingotière, et n'est plus dépendant des fluctuations du niveau du ménisque, inévitables sur les machines classiques ;
- l'extrémité de la busette qui alimente la lingotière en acier liquide est, elle aussi, maintenue à l'intérieur de la réhausse, et les turbulences liées à l'arrivée de l'acier ont ainsi le temps de s'amortir avant que l'acier ne parvienne à l'extrémité supérieure des plaques.

Claims (3)
- Lingotière de coulée continue des métaux, sous forme de brames, du type constitué par un assemblage de quatre plaques métalliques, dont deux grandes (13) et deux petites (14), comportant chacune des canaux ménagés dans leur intérieur, orientés verticalement et destinés à y faire circuler un fluide de refroidissement, caractérisée en ce qu'au moins lesdites grandes plaques (13) comportent en outre chacune dans leur partie supérieure deux canaux horizontaux (6a, 6b) de circulation de fluide de refroidissement séparés l'un de l'autre par une cloison (7), dont les orifices d'entrée respectifs (8a, 8b) sont tous deux placés au voisinage immédiat du plan médian de la plaque, et dont les orifices de sortie respectifs (8'a, 8'b) sont placés chacun sur un côté (9) ou au voisinage immédiat d'un des côtés de la plaque (1).
- Lingotière selon la revendication 1, caractérisée en ce que ses petites plaques (14) comportent chacune un canal horizontal pourvu d'un orifice d'alimentation (18) situé sur l'axe médian de la plaque (14) et de deux orifices de sortie (17, 17') placés chacun sur un côté ou au voisinage immédiat d'un des côtés de la plaque (14).
- Lingotière selon l'une des revendications 1 ou 2, caractérisée en ce qu'elle est surmontée par une rehausse (12) en matériau réfractaire.
