Abstract
Cette invention concerne un procédé perfectionné de préparation de polyesters de poids moléculaire élevé, tels que le poly(téréphtalate de butylène). Ledit procédé consiste tout d'abord à faire réagir un alkylène glycol et un acide di- ou tricarboxylique ou son alkyle ester de façon à préparer un prépolymère se présentant sous forme de particules solide uniformes possédant une viscosité intrinsèque comprise entre 0,1 et 0,3 dL/gm environ ainsi qu'une composition chimique caractérisée par un excès stoechiométrique d'alkylène glycol supérieur à 1 % par rapport à la quantité nécessaire produire un polymère de poids moléculaire élevé, puis à polymériser ledit prépolymère à l'état solide. Ledit procédé permet d'éviter l'étape de polycondensation à l'état fondu, sous pression réduite et à température très élevée.
