Abstract

L'invention concerne une composition contenant de l'acide benzoïque ou un dérivé de l'acide benzoïque, pouvant donner de l'acide benzoïque libre in vivo et être utilisée comme médicament pour les animaux. Ledit acide ou dérivé fait fonction d'antibiotique, favorise la croissance, diminue l'indice de transformation et améliore la digestibilité des acides aminés administrés dans les aliments pour animaux. L'acide benzoïque ou son dérivé peut être administré à l'animal soit dans sa composition alimentaire, soit dans son eau de boisson. Il est particulièrement efficace chez les porcs.
