Abstract

Une personne inscrite soumet une clé publique d'une paire de clés publique/privée et des informations d'identification à un préposé aux inscriptions. Ce dernier détermine si la personne inscrite est éligible sur la base des informations d'identification. Le préposé aux inscriptions signe numériquement les clés publiques des personnes inscrites éligibles et envoie les clés publiques signées à une autorité qui les authentifie. En variante, la personne inscrite présente une carte comprenant un condensé numérique de sa clé publique, et signe et soumet par courrier au préposé aux inscriptions la carte à condensé numérique. La personne inscrite présente ensuite électroniquement au préposé aux inscriptions sa clé publique. Si le condensé numérique correspond à la clé publique présentée, le préposé aux inscriptions signe numériquement la clé publique et l'envoie à une autorité qui l'authentifie. Dans une autre variante, le préposé aux inscriptions identifie lui-même la personne inscrite et lui fournit une clé privée de manière sûre, puis envoie une clé publique à signature numérique à l'autorité qui l'authentifie. Dans une autre variante encore, la personne inscrite présente une carte comprenant un condensé numérique de sa clé publique, et signe et présente la carte au préposé aux inscriptions en personne. La personne inscrite présente ensuite électroniquement la clé publique à un préposé aux inscriptions. Ce dernier signe numériquement la clé publique si le condensé numérique correspond à la clé publique présentée électroniquement. Le préposé aux inscriptions envoie la clé publique à signature numérique à une autorité l'authentifiant en vue de l'utiliser dans la source d'authentification des informations chiffrées présentées par la personne inscrite.
