Abstract
La présente divulgation porte sur un spectromètre de masse qui comprend un piège à ions (3) dans lequel les ions séparés temporairement selon leur rapport masse à charge ou leur mobilité ionique pénètrent dans le piège à ions (3). Lorsqu'au moins un certain nombre d'ions ont pénétré dans le piège à ions (3), de multiples régions de piégeage ionique sont créées sur la longueur du piège à ions (3), de sorte à fractionner les ions. Il se peut aussi que les ions soient reçus dans une ou plusieurs régions de piégeage axiales transférées le long du piège à ions (3) avec une vitesse devenant progressivement nulle.
